Aisle Containment Strips
Cool Shield‘s aisle containment flexible strip curtains provide data centers with the high utility of a flexible strip solution while minimizing the higher air leakage rates typically associated with containment. For options above data center server cabinets, the versatile Cool Shield channel is used to provide attachment points for overlapping strip curtains at both the top and bottom of the containment zone. Re-sealable fasteners can be used at the bottom to provide access to cabling, pipes or other equipment in your data center. Flexible strip curtain doors for the aisle entry way feature a wider overlap and can be outfitted with weights to prevent separation. Aisle containment strip curtain walls may be used for both hot aisle and cold aisle systems depending on the design, and can attach to a floor support to keep them as taut as possible.

Containment Strip Walls
The most versatile overlapping strip curtains solution for data center aisle containment. Thick PVC strips were the first material used for aisle containment in the data center. They were inexpensive, easy to cut to adjust to obstacles and were very effective. However, fire rating and outgassing concerns have forced a shift to thinner, higher rated strip. The problem was that these lighter strips were less effective because they easily separated when faced with air pressure. The Cool Shield Flexible Overlapping Strip Curtains solution maintains all the benefits of using vertical strips but improves the effectiveness with a two-tier design.
