California Title 24 Compliance for Aisle Containment

As of July 1, 2014, California’s Title 24 of the Building Efficiency Standards has become mandatory. This means that each newly constructed data center must have a form of airflow containment in the facility. This prevents air recirculating and throughout the facility and causing inadvertent temperature changes. If this is permitted to happen, cooling expenses are higher and over time, equipment will become damaged.

One of the best solutions for aisle containment is cool aisle containment. This is comprised of barriers which contains the cool air supply to the IT equipment’s intake, ensuring predictable and uniform temperature throughout the aisle.
